Within the first couple pages I was hooked by the realistic conflict in the marriage. A couple chapters later I was genuinely surprised at what happened next. It can be read as a stand-alone, but since this is the third book in the series (I don't want to give away any spoilers), let's just say you will be rewarded if you read it in order. My throat closed with emotion many times reading this book.
